Bionic™ Buffer, 10X Concentrate
| Synonym: | Sodium Borate Electrophoresis Buffer |
Description
| Application | Bionic Buffer is a unique alternative to traditional TBE (TRIS borate-EDTA) and TAE (TRIS acetate-EDTA) electrophoresis buffers. Bionic Buffer allows for higher voltage runs, extremely rapid running times, and high-resolution band separation. Ready for use in gel electrophoresis after dilution to working 1× concentrations. A voltage of 150 V is recommended for small electrophoresis chambers while a mid to large apparatus may be run at 200-250 V. It is recommended that the user test their chamber to determine optimum voltage. Agarose gels may be prepared using 1× Bionic Buffer. Alternatively, Bionic Buffer is compatible with standard pre-cast or freshly made TBE and TAE gels. Researchers may choose to acclimate TBE and TAE gels to Bionic Buffer, although it has been shown not to be necessary. TBE and TAE gels run in Bionic Buffer generally produce better results than when used in their own respective buffers. |
| Caution | Test electrophoresis chambers to determine highest voltage. Voltages beyond the recommended range for your apparatus may result in blown fuses or damage to your apparatus. If leaving an actively running gel unattended, we recommend that you use an electrophoresis apparatus that has a timer/auto-off. |
| Features and Benefits | • Resolve bands in minutes • Run gels 2-3 times faster than in TBE/TAE • Sharper bands in less time • Voltage less limited by heat generation |
| Packaging | The 4 L and 10 L sizes are supplied in dispensers with a spigot. |
